Women's Basketball Hosts Cesar Odio Classic This Weekend

Bucs entertain Alaska-Anchorage and Daemen after the holiday; Nova Southeastern is the swing team

MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry women's basketball team hosts the Cesar Odio Classic on Friday and Saturday this weekend, on Cesar Odio Court in the Health & Sports Center on campus. The Bucs face the 10th-ranked Alaska-Anchorage Seawolves on Friday and take on the Daemen Wildcats on Saturday.

The Bucs (1-2) are coming off a tough loss in theis conference opener on Saturday, falling 59-54 to Florida Southern. Harriett Swindells leads the team with 16.7 points per game. Nichel Tampa chips in 16.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists. Emma Hergot leads the team with 9.7 rebounds per game, while adding 8.7 points.

Alaska-Anchorage (5-1) lost at Lynn on Wednesday night, 53-52. Safiyyah Yasin leads the 'Wolves with 17.6 points per game. Tennae Voliva adds a double-double with 13.2 points and 10.6 rebounds.

Daemen (5-1) have four players averaging double figures, led by sophomore forward Katie Titus at 14.7 points per game. Junior forward Caroline White is right behind with 14.3 points per game and a team-best 7.2 rebounds.jordan Heinold and Tiara Filbert chip in 11.5 and 10.5 points per game respectively.

Nova Southeastern (1-3) is led by Jordan Tully with 18.3 points per game. Hailey Conley adds 13.5 and a team-high 6.5 rebounds. Claire McMahon adds 11.8 points and 6.3 rebounds. Iva Ilic chips in 10.3 points per game.
