HOOVER, Ala. – On the final day of the Sunshine State Conference/Gulf South Conference Crossover, Barry took on two more GSC opponents. The first match of the afternoon came against the West Florida Argonauts who are currently undefeated in GSC play and sit atop the 2019 standings. The Bucs dominated the Argos, winning the match in straight sets. The second match was Barry's first defeat in Crossover play coming against Union (TN). It was the first time this season that the Buccaneers were beaten in three sets. Barry beat West Florida 25-20, 25-13, 25-18 and fell to Union 20-25, 15-25, 20-25 inside the Finley Center.

First Match
- 1st set | The Bucs were able to come away with the set with both teams struggling offensivley hitting under .100 respectively. Barry relied on first touches from Megi Buvinic (7) and Audren Rose (8) digs respectively. There were nine ties.
- 2nd set | Three service aces and an attack percentage of .324 allowed the Buccaneers to lead from start to finish.
- 3rd set | Viktoria Velika four of her eight kills to pull away and knock-off the GSC-leading Argos.
Second Match
- 1st set | Barry started the match with three-straight attack errors and fell behind 9-4, forcing coach Steve Hendricks to call timeout.
- 2nd set | The Bucs didn't have any player record more than single kill in this set, hitting .-156 as a team.
- 3rd set | The Buccaneer offense played the best set of the match in the third, but couldn't put enough balls away to extend the match and force a fourth set.
NOTEWORTHY:.
- Velika set a season-high with eight kills against West Florida
- Barry had three players reach double-figure digs: Rose (20), Buvinic (17) and Madison Yarborough (10.
- The 29 attack errors against Union was a season-high for the Buccaneers.
ON THE HORIZON:
The Buccaneers resume their Sunshine State Conference schedule on Tuesady, October 22nd against Nova Southeastern on the road. The first NCAA South Region seedings will be released this week.
