MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers came up just short, 64-62, to the Tampa Spartans on Saturday on Cesar Odio Court in Sunshine State Conference women's basketball action.

The Bucs, however, would not go away, chipping into the lead and making it a one-basket game on several occasions as their press gave the Spartans trouble. With 0:21 seconds left, Nichel Tampa converted a three-point play in the lane to get the Bucs to one point, 63-62. NOTEWORTHY:
- Tampa led Barry with 17 points, while Richardson came off the bench to add 16.
- Staja Tyghter had 20 points and 12 rebounds to lead Tampa. Eshoo added 19 points and Nelson had 10.
- Tampa out-shot the Buccaneers 57.8 percent to 36.4.Â
- Barry led on the boards, however 40-29 and forced 15 turnovers while committing just five.
