The Buccaneers are still undefeated after taking down the Eckerd Tritons 3-0 last Saturday. Gabby Sanon scored her first goal of the season, the game-winner, and Molly Sharpe and Christy Grimshaw each added a goal and an assist. Sarah Wignall also had an assist. The Tars won their only game last week as well, beating Florida Southern 2-1.

The only common opponent for the teams has been West Georgia. The Wolves tied Rollins 0-0 on Aug. 31 and lost 1-0 to the Bucs on Sept. 2. Both games were played at Cahall-Sandspur Field in Winter Park.

The Bucs enter the contest riding a hot streak, having won all six games this season. The Bucs are led by a stifling defense, that leads the SSC with a miniscule 0.17 goals against average. Seniors Jade Adams, the defending SSC defensive Player of the Week, and Alyssa Lugo have led a squad that makes it hard for opponents to even get off shots. In the last game against Eckerd, the Tritons were held without a shot on goal. Grimshaw leads the Bucs with four goals and five assists, including a pair of game-winners. The defending SSC Player of the Year scored six goals with two assists all of last season. Sharpe is tied with Grimshaw with four goals and has chipped in three assists. Melanie Ziegner and Maddie Hart-Pomerantz have split time in the pipes for Barry, combining for 10 saves and allowing just one goal.

The Tars are 3-0-3, but already have a pair of ties against top-10 opponents, drawing 2-2 with #9 Lee and 1-1 with #5 Columbus State. Senior Jill Richards leads the Tars with six points on two goals and two assists. It's been a very balanced attack for Rollins as Sarah Buckley, Kiera McMeekan and Kathryn O'Brien have all scored twice and 10 different players have found the back of the net. Kelly Roswell has seen the bulk of the action in the nets, posting a 0.62 goals against average and 19 saves.
