COUNTY KILDARE/DUBLIN, Ireland - Barry University sophomore Lauren Grinberg has been selected to represent her native Brazil in the World Amateur Team Championship in Ireland from Aug. 29-Sept. 1.
Grinberg helped the Bucs finish fifth in NCAA Division II last year as a rookie. In 25 rounds in eight tournaments, she carded a 77.96 stroke average, with a low round of 69.

The Carton House's O'Meara and Montgomerie Courses will be set up at 6,336 yards/5,791 meters and 6,365 yards/5,818 meters, respectively. The courses will play a par of 37-36—73 and 36-36—72, respectively.
The World Amateur Team Championship was founded in 1958, and the Women's World Amateur Team Championship began in 1964. The IGF was founded in 1958 to encourage the international development of golf through friendship and sportsmanship. Today, the IGF consists of 151 national governing bodies of golf representing 146 countries and is the international federation for golf for the International Olympic Committee.
The Irish Ladies Golf Union and the Golfing Union of Ireland will host the 2018 World Amateur Team Championships. The championship was last played in 2016 in Riviera Maya, Mexico, with the team from The Republic of Korea taking the title on the women's side and Australia winning the men's championship.
