Baseball Drops First Of Three To Sharks

Bucs fall 7-5

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers battled but fell 7-5 to the 18th-ranked Nova Southeastern Sharks at Feinbloom Field in the first game of the final Sunshine State Conference baseball series of the year.

  • Michael Gizzi loaded the bases in the ninth, but got Reuben Pino to strike out to end the threat and earn his fourth save.
  • Pablo Arevalo (2-7) was saddled with the loss, despite striking out nine in eight innings of work.
  • Monge-Rodriguez led the Bucs at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two walks and two runs scored.

The Bucs continue their final series of the regular season with the Sharks tomorrow at 6 p.m. at Feinbloom Field.
