MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers defeated the Griffins of Chestnut Hill College 10-4 on Tuesday night in baseball action from Feinbloom Field.

  • T1: Alec Craig drilled a two-out solo homer over the center field fence to give the Griffins an early lead. | Chestnut Hill 1, Barry 0
  • B2: The Bucs exploded for seven runs in second off CHC starter Will Shaffer (0-1). Julian Barcelo had an RBI single. Michael Escarra and Ryan Baldwin each forced in a run with bases-loaded walks. NOTEWORTHY:

  • Nick Bralczyk (1-0) worked five innings, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out seven to pick up his first career win as a Buccaneer.
  • Shaffer, who lasted just 1.2 innings, took the loss for the Griffins. He gave up five hits and five walks, leading to seven runs.
  • Alexis Monge-Rodriguez led the Bucs with three hits.
  • Quintana was 1-for-2 with two walks. He scored three times and and drove in four.
  • Barcelo was 2-for-5 and drove in a pair. Andrew Rapoza and Paul Salata each hs two hits as well.
  • Four Griffins, Craig, Ameir Uzzell, Small and McBrearty each had two hits.

ON THE HORIZON:

The Buccaneers play the Bloomfield College Bears Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Feinbloom Field.
