Baseball Falls Twice To Seventh-Ranked Spartans

Bucs drop both ends of the doubleheader

TAMPA, Fla. -- Barry University baseball dropped both ends of a Sunshine State Conference doubleheader to the seventh-ranked Tampa Spartans on Saturday at UT Baseball Field. The Spartans took game one 13-2 and the nightcap 9-3.

  • Jonathan Hernandez (1-5) took the loss in relief in game two. He allowed five runs (three earned) on eight hits in 3.2 innings.
  • Keven Pimental (7-1) went seven innings, allowing two runs on five hits with five strikeouts to win game one.
  • Clay Helvey (2-0) worked five innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on two hits and three walks in game two.
  • Mark Moclair put in four innings to earn his fourth save.

ON THE HORIZON:

The Bucs host the Eckerd Tritons on Thursday-Friday March 29-30. Thursday's single game starts at 6:00 pm, while the doubleheader on Friday is at noon.
