WINTER PARK, Fla. -- Barry coach George Samuel was anxious to get a move on Thursday.
That was travel day, and he didn't have much time to talk.
In the same way, Barry University's No. 1-ranked men's tennis team didn't have time for small talk in beating host Rollins, 9-0, Friday at Bert Martin Tennis Complex.

DOUBLES:
- Pierre Montrieul and Blake Bayldon dashed to an 8-2 victory over Atakan Gezer and Ziad Melhaoui at the No. 2 position to put the first points on the board.
- At No. 3 doubles, Carlos Gomez and Vivien Versier gave the Buccaneers a 2-0 lead with an 8-4 win over Cody Gubin and Frederick Danielson.
- Barry's 48th-ranked Fernando Tous and Filip Zupancic finished the pairs sweep when they defeated Nicolo De Fraia and Luke Horan, 8-6, at the top spot.
SINGLES:
- Bayldon cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 win over Salvador Bolanos at No. 6 singles. That moved the Bucs within a point of clinching the match.
- Vivien Versier authored a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Danielson to seal the deal with the fifth team point.
- No. 25-ranked Daniel Ventura picked up a 6-4, 6-1 win over Gezer at No. 3.
- Matias Larregina pulled out a third-set super tiebreaker to beat Melhaoui at No. 4, 3-6, 6-2, 10-5. That put the Bucs ahead, 7-0.
- Ninth-ranked Montrieul was a 6-3, 6-4 winner over 29th-ranked De Fraia at the No. 1 position.
- Sixth-ranked Gomez beat 54th-ranked Guillerhmo Nicolas, 6-0, 3-6, 10-5, at No. 2 to wrap it up.
NOTEWORTHY:
- It was the Bucs' fourth straight sweep of the Tars, and fifth in the past six meetings.
- It was Barry's second straight sweep this season.
- Montrieul improved to 5-0 against ranked opponents.
- Gomez is now 2-0 against ranked opponents.
- Versier recorded his team-leading 11th singles and 10th doubles victories.
- Montrieul and Ventura both improved to 9-1 in singles.
ON THE HORIZON:
The Bucs will play at No. 4 Saint Leo 11 a.m. Saturday.
