Baseball Falls 9-7 To #18 Lions

Bucs rally for five runs in the ninth

SAINT LEO, Fla. -- Barry baseball opened up the conference series with Saint Leo on Friday night at Thomas B. Southard Stadium with a 9-7 loss. 

The Bucs fell behind 9-2 before rallying for five runs in the ninth.

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Hernandez took the loss for the Bucs. He allowed five runs (three earned) on six hits and a walk in three innings.
  • Jordan Pendleton (2-0) worked seven innings, holding the Bucs to a run on six hits and two walks and striking out seven. 
  • Drew Tumbelty came on in the ninth with one out and the bases loaded and got the final two outs to earn his third save.
  • Reuben Pino led the Bucs at the plate, going 3-for-5. Thompson was 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI.
  • Sweatt led the Lions with a pair of hits, three runs and two RBI.

ON THE HORIZON:

The Buccaneers play the rest of the series tomorrow at 1 and 4 p.m. at Thomas B. Southard Stadium.
