Men's Basketball Knocks Off No. 9 Argos in NCAA Tourney

Bucs move on to meet Claflin 5 p.m. Sunday

ATLANTA, Ga. -- Barry University is moving on in the NCAA Tournament.

The Buccaneers beat ninth-ranked West Florida, 90-73, Saturday in the opening round of the South Regional at Morehouse College's Forbes Arena. Evan Walshe came up a point shy of putting all five Bucs starters in double figures in a dominating display of basketball.

Barry shot 54 percent from the field, and outscored West Florida 18-4 in transition to move on to the Round of 32.

"I felt very confident we could win the game, but not like we did," Bucs fifth-year head coach Butch Estes said.

-- Barry senior point guard Elvar Fridriksson
