ATLANTA, Ga. -- Barry University is headed to the Sweet 16 once again.
The Buccaneers beat Claflin, 89-64, Sunday at Morehouse College's Forbes Arena in the second round of the NCAA Division II Tournament.
Barry shot 64 percent in the first half, opening up a 30-point lead at the break. The Bucs rode the big lead in the second half to a big victory in the South Regional.
The Buccaneers were 18 of 28 from the floor in the first half. They led by double digits 5:02 into the game.
"I think it definitely puts some pressure on the other guys, definitely gets us going," Bucs junior guard Sawyer Glick said after scoring 22 points on 7 of 14 shooting.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Bucs opened a 17-point lead at the 8:10 mark in the first half when Glick canned one of his four first half triples. Daniel Mortensen, Glick and Marko Tomic each had threes during a 14-2 Barry run that extended the lead to 47-20 with 3:35 to play in the half. Claflin scored the next five points, but another triple by Mortensen and a turnaround jumper at the buzzer by Glick sent the Bucs into the intermission leading, 56-26.
- Glick had 14 points on 4 of 5 three-pointers in the first half. Mortensen had 13 points and seven boards at the break.
- The Panthers outscored the Bucs, 22-10, to start the second half, pulling within 18 on a lay-in by Jaleel Charles with 13:03 to go. But Barry turned up its defense, using blocks by Theo Turner and Sunday Dech to trigger a 13-0 run. David Moya, Dech and Kooper Glick all scored during that stretch to build the lead back to 31 with 8:27 to go. Claflin never threatened the rest of the way.
- Benjamin Williams scored 17 points and had five rebounds, and Charles added 16 points and five boards for the Panthers, who shot 41 percent.
- Mortensen finished with 15 points, Tomic 12 and Evan Walshe 11 points and five boards. Barry shot 53.7 percent from the field.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Barry is making its second trip to the region championship game. The Bucs advanced to the region title game in 2016.
- The Buccaneers improved to 14-0 when shooting 50 percent or better this season.
- Both teams had 34 rebounds.
- The Bucs had 17 assists and 16 turnovers. The Panthers had nine assists and 14 turnovers.
