Women's Basketball Falls To Eagles At Home

Bucs drop to 8-6 in conference

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers fell 64-52 to the Embry-Riddle Eagles on Cesar Odio Court in the Health & Sports Center on Wednesday night in Sunshine State Conference women's basketball action.

SUMMARY:

  • 1Q - Neither team could build much momentum in the first period, but Barry had a 16-15 lead after a fast-break layup by Ida Andersson with 2:08 left in the quarter. But the Eagles out-scored the Bucs 6-3 to take a 21-19 edge into the first break. | Embry-Riddle 21, Barry 19 
  • 2Q - The Bucs' second quarter shooting woes, which have plagued them all season, surfaced again against the Eagles. Barry hit just 1-for-11 from the field in the second period. The Eagles pushed their lead out to eight points, 29-21 on a three-point play by Ashley McWillams with 1:52 left. NOTEWORTHY:

  • Kiara Palmer led the Bucs with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Granada added 11 points.
  • Nicole Tucker paced the Eagles with 20 points, including 16 in the first quarter. Tara Fields had 11 points before fouling out late. Sabrina Whiting added 10 points.

ON THE HORIZON:

The Bucs travel to face the Saint Leo Lions on Saturday.
