MELBOURNE, Fla. -- Barry University men's basketball team won its second straight road game, beating Florida Tech, 95-90, Wednesday night.
It was the Buccaneers' third straight win overall, and it evened the season series with the Panthers. Florida Tech beat Barry in the earlier meeting in Miami Shores. The win kept the Bucs in first place by a game in the Sunshine State Conference with three games remaining.

- Barry opened a 23-14 lead on a Daniel Mortensen three-pointer with 9:37 to go in the first half. The Panthers cut it to four on a layup by Richard Coil, but Mortensen hit another three 58 seconds later to push the lead back to eight. Marko Tomic scored with 4:22 left on the clock to put Barry ahead, 35-23. The Panthers used a 7-1 run to cut the gap to six. Tomic knocked down a jumper to push the lead back to 10, but the Panthers closed the half with an 8-2 run over the final 1:16 to pull within 42-38 at the break.
- Tomic scored 10 points on 4 of 6 shooting, and Mortensen had 14 on 4 of 7 in the first half. Florida Tech went 0 for 9 from long range in the first half.
- Sawyer Glick hit a triple 1:44 into the second half to give Barry an eight-point lead. Glick knocked down a jumper in transition, following a Mortensen steal to put the Bucs on top, 52-40. Evan Walshe canned a three to push the gap to 15 with 14:26 remaining. Walshe buried another triple on the next possession to make it 60-46.
- FIT stormed back to take a 64-62 lead on Patrick Anderson's triple. It came during a 25-4 Panthers run over 5:42 that put Florida Tech ahead, 69-64. Elvar Fridriksson and Glick hit back-to-back threes to regain the lead for the Buccaneers with 6:38 to play. Mortensen hit a pull-up jumper in the paint at the 4:22 mark to put the Bucs in front, 76-71.
- Daniel buried a three from the corner to tie the game at 76 with 3:29 to go. Fridriksson drained a huge three with 1:23 left to put the Bucs up, 85-81. After a pair of Sunday Dech free throws padded Barry's lead to six inside the final minute, Jordan Majors' triple with 39 seconds left pulled the Panthers within three. Florida Tech nearly forced a turnover with 10 seconds remaining, but Tomic and Walshe each sank two free throws to seal it.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Walshe finished with a career-high 15 points on 4 of 4 shooting from the floor and 4-for-4 from the free throw line.
- Barry shot 56.4 percent from the field and 54.5 percent from three-point range.
- It was the third straight game the Bucs have shot 50 percent or better from the floor.
- The .545 three-point shooting matched a season high.
- The Bucs sank a season-best 21 of 23 free throws.
- Mortensen had 20 points, Tomic 19, Fridriksson 15 and Glick 14. Majors scored 32, and Daniel 27 for the Panthers.
- The Buccaneers were outscored, 46-28, in the paint.
- Barry's bench outscored Florida Tech, 25-10.
