MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers fell 87-82 to the Benedict Tigers on Cesar Odio Court Friday night in women's basketball action.

SUMMARY:
- 1Q - The Tigers jumped out to an 11-4 lead in the first three and half minutes, hitting 3-of-3 from beyond the arc. Barry stormed back with an 11-0 run, capped by a three-pointer from Emma Hergot at the 4:40 mark. The game swung back and forth the rest of the period, but a layup by Juhnae Richardson with 0:13 second left sent Barry to the break with a lead. | Barry 27, Benedict 25
- 2Q - The second quarter was more of the same as both teams made runs. Harriett Swindells made a three-pointer with 6:16 left to put Barry up by six, 38-32, but the Tigers came back to take a 40-38 lead on a three-pointer by Jasmine Gholson at the 4:54 mark. The score went back and forth, but Carly Sanders made a layup with four seconds left to send Barry into the locker room up 49-47. | Barry 49, Benedict 47
- The Bucs hit 9-of-18 from three-point range, but the Tigers did one better, making 10-of-17 in the first half.

- 4Q - The Tigers quickly grabbed an eight-point lead, their largest of the game, in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter. Barry cut the lead to two, 75-73 on a layup by Ida Andersson with 4:12 left. But the Bucs went cold from the field and Benedict pushed the lead back out to nine points with just under two minutes to play. Barry made another run to get it back to 85-82 with 2.1 seconds left, but Ay'anna Bey made a pair of free throws to ice the game. | Benedict 87, Barry 82
NOTEWORTHY:
- Andersson, who led the Bucs with 15 points in the first half, did not score in the third period. She managed seven points in the forth before fouling out. Her 22 points led all scorers.
- Swindells came off the bench with 18 points.
- Bey led five Tigers in double figures with 20 points and 12 rebounds.
- Ayanna Armstead had 17 off the bench, including 5-of-8 from three-point range.
- Bostic and Essence Stinnette each had 14 points and Gholson added 11.
- The Tigers hald a 51-44 edge on the glass and outscored the Bucs at the free throw line 14 to five.

Barry plays in the Nova Southeastern Thanksgiving Classic next weekend, playing Alabama-Huntsville and Virginia Union.
