MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Buccaneers host the Benedict College Tigers in women's basketball action from Cesar Odio Court on Friday night. The game is the only home athletic event during Founders Week here at Barry.

The Bucs (1-1) split a pair of games last weekend at the SSC/GSC South Region Crossover, which they hosted at Cesar Odio Court. The Bucs fell narrowly to second-ranked Union (Tenn.) 69-62, despite leading for three quarters, but bounced back to knock off Delta State 74-66.
Newcomer Nichel Tampa has made an immediate impact for the Bucs, leading the team at 20.0 points per game. She is shooting a robust 56.0 percent from the field and has chipped in 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game from her point guard slot. Ida Andersson is second on the team at 13.0 points per game, and leads the team at 7.0 rebounds per game and 3.5 assists per game. Juhnae Richardson is coming off the bench for 10.5 points per game, thanks to some 45.5 percent three-point shooting.
The Tigers dropped their opener 86-76 to Belmont Abbey on Wednesday and come into the game at 0-1.
Sophomore forward Ay'anna Bey leads the Tigers in scoring (20.0) and rebounding (9.0). The 6-2 post can also step out to three point range, where she is second on the team in made baskets. Sophomore guard Ayanna Armstead chipped in 14 points against the Crusaders, while sophomore forward Camryn Bostic chipped in 10 points on 55.6 percent shooting.
