MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry put on a dominant performance on their home courts at the Barry Invitational this weekend. The Bucs crowned champions in all four of the singles flights and also earned a title in doubles play. 

THE MATCHUPS

The tournament field featured Flager College, ASA College Miami, Keiser University, and an SSC opponent in Palm Beach Atlantic University.

  • Carlos Gomez was crowed champion in the first singles flight.
    • Def. P. Hoffman (PBA) 6-0, 7-6(5)
    • Def. F. Carvalho (FC) 6-2, 4-6, 11-9
    • Def. V. Versier (BU) 6-3, 6-2
  • Vivian Versier also advanced to the finals of the first singles flight.

    • Def. L. Stork (FC) 6-1, 6-0
  • Daniel Ventura fell in the semifinals after a close extra-sets defeat.

  • Blake Bayldon took home the championship in the second singles flight.

  • Flavio Matteoli captured 5th place after suffering a defeat in the opening round.

  • Martin Guttierez won the championship in the fourth singles flight.

  • Guttierez and Bayldon won their opening match before suffering defeat in the third place game.

  • Gomez and Versier came in second place in the first doubles flight.
