WHAT THEY'RE SAYING:
"I am extremely proud of Elvar for all his accomplishments over the years, especially breaking the assist record today. Passing was the one skill I took great pride in because it exemplified unselfishness and allowed me to express myself through making my teammates better. He certainly has that skill. The fact that Elvar has reached this mark in less than three years is astonishing, and is a credit to not only his abilities as a point guard, but also to the great players around him and the system he flourishes in under Coach (Butch) Estes. I never thought my record would last forever, but I'm pretty confident whatever number he ends up with will be nearly impossible to compete with. Nelson Fonseca was there to congratulate me when I broke his record in 2007, and that was a special moment for me. I just wish I could have been there in person to congratulate Elvar."
