MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University's No. 10-ranked men's basketball team handed Florida Southern its worst Sunshine State Conference loss of the season, 102-80, Wednesday at Cesar Odio Court in the Health and Sports Center.
Six Buccaneers scored in double figures on a night Barry found its shooting groove early. Coupled with some help around the league, the Bucs pushed its lead back to two games in the SSC standings.

SUMMARY:
- Barry opened up a double-digit lead in the first half when Johannes Dolven scored at the 11:25 mark to put the Buccaneers ahead, 25-15. Florida Southern cut it to five with just over nine minutes remaining, but Marko Tomic buried a three to extend the Bucs' lead to 13. Dolven scored with 2:06 left on the first half clock to make it a 17-point lead. Barry went into intermission leading 55-42
- Milon Sheffield buried a three with 11:28 remaining as Barry widened its lead to 24. Sunday Dech's layup with 8:29 to go gave the Bucs an 85-57 lead. The Moccasins never got it under 20 the rest of the way.
- Daniel Mortensen finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Dech had 16 points and eight boards. Dolven had 14 points, Sawyer Glick 13, David Moya 13 points and eight assists, and Evan Walshe 11 points and five boards.
- Jonathan Lawton had 19 points, and Brett Hanson 15 for the Mocs.
- Barry shot 52 percent from the floor, and went 14 of 31 from 3-point range. FSC hit 39.5 percent of its field goals, including 10 of 39 from long range.
NOTEWORTHY:
- It was Mortensen's third double-double of the season.
- Florida Southern's previous four losses in conference play were decided by four points or less.
- Barry outrebounded Florida Southern, 51-31. It was the first time since Feb. 20, 2016 the Bucs grabbed 50 rebounds in a game.
- Moya and Walshe scored in double figures for the first time this season.
- Dech reached double figures for the third time in his last four games. Dolven had double figures for the second time in the past three games.
- Barry had 26 assists on 36 field goals.
- Lynn's win over Eckerd gave Barry a two-game lead in the SSC.

Barry will play at Embry-Riddle 6 p.m. Saturday.
