MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Marko Tomic hit the gamewinning shot to beat the buzzer as Barry University's men's basketball team pulled out a 75-73 win over Eckerd Saturday.
The Buccaneers had an 11-point lead with 4:51 to go after Daniel Mortensen scored in the paint, but Eckerd went on a 15-4 run over a 3:56 span to tie the game. After Keshawn Ingram hit a tying three-pointer with 10 seconds left, the Bucs responded with the gamewinner on the final possession.
The win pushed Barry back ahead of Eckerd in the Sunshine State Conference race.

SUMMARY:
- The Buccaneers opened up a 10-point lead on Evan Walshe's triple with 3:28 to go in the first half. Three times over the remainder of the half, the Tritons cut it to single digits. Elvar Fridriksson, playing in his first game since Jan. 6, converted a three-point play with 48 seconds to go in the half, but Eckerd's Drushaun McLaurn hit a layup at the horn to cut the lead to 41-33 at the break.
- Barry was 8 of 14 from long distance in the first half. Eckerd hit four of eight triples.
- Fridriksson hit a three 1:37 into the second half to push Barry's lead to 14. Trevon Young scored with 15:33 to go to cut the deficit to seven. Sunday Dech knocked down one of his four triples with 8:35 remaining to put the Bucs ahead, 63-52. Myron Hagins sank a free throw to cut it to seven again for the Tritons, who shot 50 percent from beyond the three-point arc in the second half.
- Kooper Glick sank two free throws, and Mortensen scored on the layup to extend the lead back to 11, but the Tritons cut it two on a triple by Blake Morrow with 1:54 to go before Barry scored again. Mortensen hit a layup on the next possession, and Johannes Dolven scored a big bucket to push the lead to six. But two straight threes by Morrow and Ingram tied the game before Tomic's heroics pulled it out for the Bucs.
- Barry was outscored, 40-34, in the second half.
- Fridriksson had 13 points and six assists. Dech scored 12 points, and Mortensen nine points and nine boards. McLaurn and Morrow each had 17 for the Tritons.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Sawyer Glick scored 19 points on 5 of 8 triples to record his sixth straight game with three or more three-pointers.
- Barry swept the season series from Eckerd for the second straight year.
- The Bucs have rebounded from a loss four times this year.
- Barry led for 37:29.
