MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University's volleyball team opens the Sunshine State Conference season this weekend when the Buccaneers return to the court following a three-week hiatus.
The Bucs (2-0, 0-0 SSC) meet Florida Tech (3-2, 1-1) at 7 p.m. Friday in the Clemente Center. Barry will visit Embry-Riddle (3-2, 1-1) at 4 p.m. Saturday in the ICI Center to wrap up the weekend action.

Barry has not played since Sept. 1 when it beat Barton, 3-1, at the ICI Center in ERAU's Bahama House Classic. Hurricane Irma cancelled the Barry University Classic and postponed the first two SSC matches on the schedule.
The Bucs hit .259 in the opening weekend of the season. Barry held its opponents to a .106 attack percentage. Barry racked up 18 blocks in the season's first two matches, while opponents had eight blocks against the Bucs.

Genesis Castillo each recorded over 20 kills on the first weekend of play. 
Brittany Reynolds had five service aces.

Juliana Tirabassi had over 20 digs apiece. 
NET NOTES
Barry is 51-7 all time against Florida Tech ... The Buccaneers have won the last seven meetings in the series, including four in a row by 3-1 verdicts ... Barry is 23-3 in Melbourne in the series.
The Bucs are 4-0 against Embry-Riddle ... The Eagles are in their first official season as an SSC member ... Barry pulled out a five-set win over ERAU in the final weekend of the regular season last year.
