ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. --
Karina Goia waited nearly two years for a chance to redeem herself. Friday was a good opportunity for the fifth-year senior and the Buccaneers.
Goia beat Lenka Styblova, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 6 singles to give No. 2 Barry University's women's tennis team a 5-1 win over No. 5 Armstrong State in the NCAA Division II semifinals Friday at Sanlando Park. The victory sends the Bucs on to Saturday's 9 a.m. national championship match in an All-Sunshine State Conference Finals versus No. 3 Lynn.
"I feel amazing to be here to end my career here at Barry with the tennis (team) in such a great way, playing in the finals for nationals," said Goia, who was a member of the Bucs' 2014 national championship team that won it all in Altamonte Springs. "I actually felt very well today on the court. I felt my game, and I was on top of every point. I'm really happy that I could finally finish the match and clinch the victory for the team."

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING:
"I was injured for a year-and-a-half, so that made me understand better how great it is to be able to play and to be able to enjoy every moment on the court, so I'm trying to do that here at nationals as well, and trying to transmit that to my teammates. It's amazing."
