Men's Tennis Finishes as National Runner-Up

No. 2 Buccaneers fall, 5-2, to No. 1 Argos

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. -- Barry University's No. 2 men's tennis team fell, 5-2, to No. 1 West Florida in the NCAA Division II Championship Friday at Sanlando Park.

The Buccaneers finished as the national runner-up for the sixth time in the program's history. The last time Barry was the runner-up was 2011, also at Sanlando.

Barry trailed 2-1 after doubles, but tied the match at 2-2 when Fabian Pronnet took Pedro Dumont out of his game, frustrating the Argos' No. 5 singles player to the tune of a 6-1, 6-4 Bucs victory. But the Buccaneers could not salvage another singles point.
