MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers split their Sunshine State Conference softball doubleheader with the Eckerd Tritons, taking game one 7-2, but falling 5-3 in the finale.

SUMMARY:
GAME ONE:
- T-1st - Rachel Luckett singled with two outs and came in when Carrie Shere drew a bases-loaded walk.
- B-1st - Jasmine Harris smacked a three-run homer, scoring Cheyanne Head and Alayna Gallagher to give Barry a 3-1 lead.
- B-2nd - Geneva Santos ripped a lead-off single. Alayna Gallagher beat out an infield hit to drive her in.
- B-5th - Lynsey Duncan reached on an error by Triton shortstop Kaylin Kramer with one out. Harris punched a single up the middle and Madison VonHagel was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Avery Cotterill ripped a two-runs single and Santos singled to center to plate another run.
- T-7th - The Tritons trimmed one run back in the seventh when Shere doubled to drive in Nikole Van Gennep.
SUMMARY:
GAME TWO:
- T-1st - Shere drilled a three-run homer in the first for the Tritons.
- B-3rd - Hunter Mars drew a lead-off walk and scored on a successful squeeze by Gallagher.
- B-6th - VonHagel crushed a two-out, two-run homer to tie the game 3-3.
- T-7th - Crystal Garcia had a lead-off bunt single that ticked off the leg of Cotterill. Luckett reached on an error. Chelsea Armstrong ripped a single down the left field line to score Garcia and Shere drove in Luckett with a flay ball to right.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Anieliese Palmeiro (5-3) went the distance in game one for the win. She allowed two runs (one earned) on eight hits and five walks.
- Duncan (2-4) took the loss in game two. She came on in relief of Palmeiro in the third and worked out of a bases-loaded, no-out jam. She then set the Tritons down in order in the fourth, fifth and sixth, before being tagged for two runs in the seventh.
- Van Gennep (11-16) got the decision in both ends of the twin bill, taking a loss in 4.1 innings work as the starter but picking up the win despite blowing the save in game two.Â
ON THE HORIZON:
The Bucs travel to Embry-Riddle in Daytona Beach, Fla., on Thursday and Friday next week.
