Baseball Loses To Florida Tech Friday Night

All-time series tied up 60-60.

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Buccaneer baseball took a tough loss Friday night, as they lost 10-2 against the visiting Panthers of FIT.

All-Time Series: The series is now tied 60-60

SUMMARY:

  • T2: Ryan Sinzenich started the onslaught of runs for the Panthers, as he flew out to right field to score Nick Capra from third.
  • B2: Alexis Monge-Rodriguez doubled in the second to score Jonathan Quintana to even the game at 1-1.
  • T3: Capra came back in the third to knock in Reid Neal to take the 2-1 lead. Daniel Szpik then scored on a pass ball to extend the Panther lead to 3-1.
  • B4: Quintana trimmed the deficit to one run as he homered to left center to make it 3-2 Panthers.
  • T5: David Wilson singled in the fifth for FIT, bringing in one RBI. Another runner scored on the play as a result of a defensive error after the ball was hit.
  • T8: John Sternagel knocked in Grant McKown with a single to right field, making it 6-2 FIT.
  • T9: Lastly, Neal came up big for the Panthers with a grand slam in the ninth to create a final score of 10-2.

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Ty Cohen (5-3) picked up the win for the Panthers tonight, after giving up eight hits and two runs through six innings.
  • Jonathan Hernandez (1-6) was dealt the loss for the Bucs, giving up seven hits and five runs.

ON THE HORIZON:

Barry continues their conference series with FIT tomorrow with a doubleheader. Game one will start at 1 pm, with the second game to be played roughly 30 minutes after the end of the first.
