Baseball Comes Out On Top Friday Night Against Lynn

Both teams battled for the lead, but ultimately the Bucs had the bigger bats!

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Barry took the win in game one of the final home series of the 2017 season, beating Lynn 8-6 Friday night.

SUMMARY:

  • B1: Justin Lamazares crushed a two-run homer in the first to put the Bucs up 2-0.
  • T2: Miguel Ceballos trimmed the Bucs lead to one run with a home run to left field. Jarren Pinkney followed with another homer to take the 3-2 lead for the Fighting Knights.
  • T3: Ceballos doubled to right field to bring in Tyler Curtis to make it 4-2 Lynn.
  • B3: Jonathan Quintana singled up the middle to score Ryan Baldwin in the third, making it 4-3 Lynn.
  • B5: Baldwin homered in the fifth to tie up the game at 4-4. Claudio Rubiera doubled to right center, scoring Lamazares to take the 5-4 lead for the Bucs.
  • T6: Patrick Dorrian tied the game up at 5-5 after doubling to right field to score Pinkney. Alex Turner scored on a wild pitch to take the 6-5 lead for the Knights.
  • B6: Abreu homered in the sixth to regain the lead for the Bucs, making it 7-6.
  • B7: Rubiera extended the lead for the Bucs to 8-6 when he scored on a throwing error by the catcher.

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Armando Gonzalez (3-3) grabbed the win for the Bucs in game one of the series, after only giving up one hit.
  • Jonathan Eisdorfer (3-2) was dealt the loss for Lynn, giving up four hits and three runs.
  • Lance Elder (2) picked up his second save of the season, after striking out three batters and holding off the Fighting Knights.

ON THE HORIZON:

Saturday marks senior day for the Bucs. Barry continues their conference series with Lynn with a doubleheader. Game one will start at 1 pm, with the second game to be played roughly 30 minutes after the end of the first.
