Men's Tennis Hosts NCAA Tournament Saturday-Sunday

Buccaneers meet North Alabama in opening round

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University's men's tennis team will host the NCAA Division II South Regional at Buccaneer Tennis Center Saturday and Sunday.

The No. 2 seed Buccaneers (21-1) will meet seventh-seeded North Alabama at 10 a.m. Saturday in the semifinals. Third-seeded Valdosta State squares off with sixth-seed Rollins at 1 p.m. The semifinal winners will play for the region championship 12 p.m. Sunday. Live Video coverage for the championship match will be available through Facebook Live on Barry University Athletics Facebook and BarryU Men's Tennis Facebook pages.  

"Hey, we're tickled pink to be able to host another NCAA regional," Barry coach George Samuel said. "Playing at home is a reward for our great season, and we hope to see a lot of support out there this weekend for some great college tennis."

The Buccaneers are making their 23rd straight NCAA Tournament appearance, all under Samuel. Barry has won 12 region championships, the last coming in 2015 when the Bucs captured their third national title.
