TAMPA -- The 17th-ranked Tampa Spartans won a pair of one-run games to take the series from the Barry Buccaneers in Sunshine State Conference softball action on Saturday at Namoli Family Stadium.

GAME ONE:
- T-5th - Barry used a two-out, two-run rally to take the lead in the first game. After Cheyanne Head drew a two-out walk, Alayna Gallagher and Lynsey Duncan ripped back-to-back RBI triples.Â
- B-5th - After facing the minimum through four innings, the wheels came off for the Buccaneer pitchers in the fifth. The Spartans only managed two hits, but a pair of walks, a hit batter and two errors, led to four runs. Madison Farrell had the big blow, a two-run single up the middle.
- T-7th - Gallgaher had a double with one out and scored on a single by Geneva Santos, but Makayleigh Dooley got Avery Cotterill swinging with the bases loaded to end the game.

GAME TWO:
- B-1st - Sahrina Cortes tripled to lead off the game and scored on a single by Shelby Press.
- T-2nd - Jasmine Harris had a lead-off double and Madison VonHagel squeezed her home to knot the game 1-1.
- B-3rd - Farrell again delivered the big blow, a two-run single, after the Bucs walked a pair and made another error.
- T-4th - After Harris and Kristina Osorio singled with one out, Avery Cotterill lined a shot into left field. Press played the ball into a five-base error, allowing Harris and Osorio to score and Cotterill to advance to third.
- B-5th - Dooley had a one-out double and pinch runner Lauren Pascoe scored on a single by Coryn Minor.
- T-7th - Sam Busekrus, Cheyanne Head and Gallagher had three straight hits to tie the game 4-4.
- B-7th - Mnor singled to lead off the inning. One out later, pinch runner Kelsey Humphreys scored ahead of a double by Jennie Sittloh.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Geneva Santos (3-2) took the loss in relief in game one.
- Falcon (5-9) lost for the first time in five starts.
