MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Buccaneers baseball program dropped a pair of matches during the double-header against Tampa on Saturday.
INSIDE THE MATCHUP
Final: Tampa 15, Barry 1; Tampa 7, Barry 6

SUMMARY:
Game 1
- B4: After being scoreless the first three innings, Ryan Baldwin breaks the silence with a homer to right center to take the 1-0 lead for the Bucs.
- T6: Tampa took the lead in the sixth, scoring five runs. Vin Consenzo had a double.
- T7: Tampa grabbed another run when J.D. Osborne scored on a throwing error by the Barry defense.
- T8: Laz Rivera increased the lead for the Spartans to make it 7-1 after he homered to left center.
- T9: The Spartans cranked in eight runs in the ninth to make the final score 15-1 in favor or Tampa. Darren Miller had a double, scoring two RBI.
Game 2
- T2: An early fielding error by the Bucs led to Adrian Chacon scoring from third, getting the Spartans on the board. J.D. Osborne also scored off of the ball put in play by Darren Miller, making it 2-0.
- T3: Laz Rivera singled to left field to score Kevin Santa to make it 3-0 Spartans.
- B3: Barry tied it up in the third with the help of a couple errors by the Tampa defense. Claudio Rubiera and Michael Escarra both scored on a throwing error, and Juan Sebastian Dayoub scored on a wild pitch from third.
- T4: Connor Crile took the lead back for the Spartans with a singled through the right side, which scored Osborne.
- B5: Barry's third baseman , Justin Lamazares, crushed a homer to left center, scoring Julian Abreu and Dayoub, to make it 6-4 Bucs.
- T8: Consenzo tagged up from third on a fly out to right field to to trim the Buc's lead to just one run.
- T9: Tampa scored two more runs in the ninth, and the Bucs couldn't match it. L. Rivera and Osborne both scored off singles from Cosenzo and Miller to end the game 7-6 Spartans.
NOTEWORTHY:
- David Lebron (1-0) grabbed the win for the Spartans in game one, giving up three hits and one run through seven innings.
- Jonathan Hernandez (1-2) took the loss for the Bucs, even though he only gave up two runs through five innings.
- Cheyne Bickel (2-1) picked up the second win on the day for the Spartans, giving up four hits and three runs through five innings.
- Lance Elder (1-1) took the loss for the Bucs, giving up one run.
ON THE HORIZON:
The Buccaneers host Felician on Friday Mar. 3 at 6 pm to continue season play.
