MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Buccaneer baseball finished up the weekend beating Tuskegee in both games Saturday during the double-header. The Bucs won the first game 23-6, and the second game 16-3.

"The results for the weekend are what we work for," pitching coach Alex Gonzalez said. "The process by which we achieve them must continue to improve for us to continue to grow as a team. We must come back to work on Monday recovered from the weekend and focused on the preparation necessary to compete and win against Ave Maria, and start conference play next weekend."
SUMMARY:
Game 1
- B1: The Bucs jumped on the board early with six runs in the first. Alffredi Ramos doubled to score two RBI. Andrew Rapoza and Juan Sebastian Dayoub
- B3: Barry increased their lead to eight runs when Justin Lamazares doubled, scoring Dayoub, and Julian Abreu flew out to center, scoring Rapoza.
- B4: Rapoza knocked out his first homer of his collegiate career, scoring three RBI, to make it 11-0 Bucs.
- T5: Doug Brown got the Golden Tigers on the board when he singled, and scored Elgin Woodside from third.
- B6: Barry tallied four more runs in the sixth. Abreu doubled, scoring two RBI.
- B7: The Bucs increased their huge lead with another eight runs in the seventh, to make it 23-1. Lamazares, Anthony Rondon, Alexis Monge-Rodriguez, Paul Salata, and Andrew Puglielli all had singles to score RBI's.
- T8: Golden tigers added two more runs to the deficit. Lane Williams scored on a sacrifice fly, and Ricky Green tripled to score Dominic Johnson.
- T9: Tuskegee made it 23-6 after knocking in three more last minute runs. Williams, Luter, and Green each singled to score three RBI.
Game 2
- B1: The Bucs picked up right where they left off, scoring four runs in the first. Ryan Baldwin and Rondon each singled to score and RBI each. Ramos hit a sacrifice fly to left field, to score Lamazares.
- T2: Matthew Reed got the Tigers on the board early as well, singling down the right side to score Ryan Green.
- B2: Ramos got the run back for the Bucs when he singled through the right side to score Abreu.
- B3: The Bucs scored two more runs to take the 9-1 lead. Rondon, Abreu and Baldwin each doubled, combining for three RBI.
- T4: Reed bounced back again for the Tigers, homering to score two RBI, to make it 9-3 Bucs.
- B4: The Bucs knocked in three more runs in the fourth. Abreu singled through the right side to score Dayoub.
- B6: Barry finished off the day with four more runs in the sixth. Rapoza batted his second homer of the day, scoring two RBI.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Jonathan Hernandez (1-1) picked up his first win of the season in the first game. He had nine strikeouts and only gave up four hits and one run through seven innings.
- Jordyn Thomas (0-1) took the loss for the Tigers in the first game, giving up 10 hits and 11 runs to the Bucs.
- Luis Deville (1-1) grabbed the win in the second game for the Bucs. He threw eight strikeouts, and gave up five hits and three runs through five innings.
- Eugene Mabota (1-2) was dealt the loss for the second game for the Tigers, after giving up 16 hits and 12 runs.
- The Bucs haven't scored 23 runs in one game since March 12 in 2013 against Adelphi, when Barry won 23-2.
