TAMPA, Fla. -- Elvar Fridriksson came within five points of the school single-game scoring record, and No. 11/12 Barry University men's basketball team beat Tampa in a double overtime shootout Saturday, 107-103.
Fridriksson scored a career-high 43 points on 12 of 25 shooting, including 5 of 9 from three-point range and 14 of 15 from the free throw line.
The game featured six ties and 15 lead changes.

SUMMARY:
- The Buccaneers trailed by as many as 15 with 15:30 to play in regulation before Johannes Dolven scored back-to-back baskets, and Kooper Glick canned a triple to cut it to eight 1:01 later.
- The Spartans bumped their lead back to double digits, but Sunday Dech scored with 6:13 remaining in the second half to pull the Bucs within 62-58. Mekhi Biffle hit a three with 1:15 remaining in regulation as Tampa went ahead, 80-71. Sawyer Glick and Fridriksson canned back-to-back triples to cut it to three with 37 seconds to go.
- After Biffle sank two free throws, Sawyer Glick buried a triple at the buzzer to send the game into overtime.
- Fridriksson scored with 43 seconds left in the first overtime to put the Bucs up two, but Tampa's Freddy Ibrahim sent the game to a second overtime on a layup with 10 seconds on the clock.
- Fridriksson sank two free throws with 3:17 remaining in the second overtime to tie the game for the sixth time. After Biffle knocked down a jumper at the 2:04 mark to put the Spartans up one, Sawyer Glick hit another one of his six triples, and Fridriksson sank two free throws with three seconds left to seal it.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Fridriksson's 43 points is the second most in school history. Jason Junker's 48 points against Nova Southeastern on Nov. 19, 2000 is the Buccaneers' single-game record.
- Head coach Butch Estes won his 100th game at Barry. He has an overall record of 544-337 in his entire coaching career.
- Barry dropped both of the meetings with Tampa last year.
- Sawyer Glick finished with 23 points. Daniel Mortensen had 11 points, 11 rebounds and five assists.
- It was Barry's first overtime game in the regular season this year. It marked the second straight year the Bucs won a double-overtime thriller on the road after beating Eckerd in two extra periods last season.
