Women's Soccer Bows Out Of SSC Tournament

Bucs fall 1-0 to Florida Tech

DAVIE, Fla. -- The second-seeded Barry women's soccer team bowed out of the Sunshine State Conference Tournament in the semifinals with a 1-0 loss to #6 Florida Tech on Friday at the NSU Soccer Complex.

SUMMARY:

  • 16:18 - Taylor Eller banked a shot from 20 yards out off the far post and in for the game's only goal.

NOTEWORTHY:

  • The Bucs dominated play, outshooting the Panthers 13-5, including 7-2 on goal, but could not break through against Tech keeper Karlyn Prisco, who had seven saves to record her conference-leading seventh shutout of the season.
  • Melanie Ziegner had one save to take the loss for the Bucs.
  • The loss snapped the Bucs' seven-game winning streak.
  • Barry had bounced the Panthers out of the SSC Tournament in three of the last four years. It was Tech's first post-season win against the Bucs.

ON THE HORIZON:

Barry, ranked fifth in the latest NCAA South Region Poll will await the announcement of tournament bids on Monday, Nov. 6.
