DAVIE, Fla. -- Barry University's volleyball team recorded season-high attack numbers en route to a sweep of Nova Southeastern Tuesday. The Bucs won, 25-13, 25-21, 25-20.
Juliana Tirabassi and
Jaeda Allen both had double-doubles, and the Bucs picked up their second sweep of the season.

SUMMARY:
- The Buccaneers opened a 14-7 lead in the first set on a kill by Brittany Reynolds. Johanna Voss and Genesis Castillo each had kills, Nathaly Alvarez served up two aces, and Kishara Gordon and Castillo had a block as the Bucs used a 6-0 run to take a 23-12 lead the Sharks couldn't recover from. Barry never trailed in the set.
- Nova Southeastern had a 17-10 lead in the second set, but the Bucs used a 10-2 surge to take a 20-19 lead on a kill by Allen. Tirabassi ripped off six straight service points during that run. A kill by Kristina Filimonova on a setup from Voss and a Sharks hitting error made it 23-20 for the Bucs. Barry claimed the set on a pair of Sharks errors. The Bucs hit .250 in the set.
- Allen, Gordon and Castillo put away three straight balls to give the Buccaneers a 12-5 lead in the third set. NSU ran off five straight points to cut it to 13-10. After a timeout, Filimonova halted the Sharks' run with a kill. Voss and Filimonova banged down kills to push Barry back up 17-11. The Sharks cut it to 20-17 before Allen put down a kill. Nova Southeastern cut the gap to two before Reynolds had a kill. Filimonova and Castillo combined on a block, and Gordon slammed home the final point. Barry hit .415 in the final set.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Barry had 18 kills and one error in the final set.
- The Bucs hit a season-high .277.
- Tirabassi had 20 assists and 20 digs.
- Allen had 10 kills and 12 digs.
- Voss had eight kills and two blocks. Filimonova had seven kills and four blocks. Alexis Boutin had 14 digs.
- Both teams had six blocks.
