MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University's volleyball team will host Embry-Riddle and Florida Tech in a pair of Sunshine State Conference matches this weekend.
The Buccaneers (8-8, 4-7 SSC) host Embry-Riddle (10-8, 5-7) at 7 p.m. Friday. Barry hosts Florida Tech (8-10, 3-9) at 4 p.m. Saturday. Both matches can be seen on the
Buccaneers Broadcasting Network.Â
Barry sits in a tie for seventh in the SSC. Embry-Riddle is one game ahead of the Bucs, and Florida Tech is one game behind. This is the second meeting with both opponents. Barry lost to the Eagles in Daytona Beach a night after beating FIT in Melbourne.
Embry-Riddle's Melanie Canfield has 258 kills, and is hitting .258. Theresa Jordan has 150 kills and 172 digs. Erika Barbour is averaging 3.12 kills per set for the Eagles, who are hitting .211 this season. The Eagles had won six in a row until falling to No. 3 Palm Beach Atlantic on Tuesday.
Florida Tech's Olivia Hersey has 177 kills and is hitting is .234. Kelly Germain has 136 kills and 101 digs. Audrey Keenan has 106 kills and 131 digs. The Panthers swept Rollins on Tuesday.
Barry is trying to snap a four-game skid. Kishara Gordon has had five or more kills in 11 straight matches. She needs 14 kills to reach 100 this season.
Kristina Filimonova has 170 kills and 68 blocks.
Jaeda Allen has 167 kills and 141 digs.
Juliana Tirabassi leads the Bucs in assists and digs.
