MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry's men's tennis team concluded their first ever fall invitational at home Sunday, to wrap up the fall season.
SUMMARY:
SINGLES
Draw A
- Pierre Montrieul was defeated by Romai Ugarte of Keiser, 8-2. He later went on to win the consolation bracket, 8-4, over Philipp Hoffman of PBA.
- Carlos Gomez beat Pato Zarazua of PBA, 8-2, but fell to Keiser's Vicente Lagos, 8-5.
Draw B
- Barry's Vivien Versier and Daniel Ventura went undefeated in Draw B.
- Versier defeated both of his opponents, 8-0, while Ventura beat his first opponent, 9-7, and came back to win again 9-8 (2).
Draw C
- Flavio Matteoli and Victor Ravier went undefeated in their bracket in Draw C.
- Matteoli beat Pietro Da Silva of PBA, 8-4, then came back to win, 8-3, against Andrew Connolly.
- Ravier defeated both Pedro Acevedo from Keiser, 8-2, and PBA's Carlos Niemeyer, 8-5.
Draw D
- Barry's Fernando Tous, went undefeated in Draw D.
- Tous won 8-3 against Keiser's Frederico Lombisano. He finished the day with a, 8-2, victory against Nick Torres of PBA.
- Martin Gutierrez beat Scott Power from Keiser, 8-5.
DOUBLES
Draw A
- Montrieul and Gomez opened Draw A by defeating Kentaro Mizushima and Tomas Santantonio of ASA, 6-3, to move onto the semifinals.
- Barry's Versier and Ventura beat Adrian Frutos and Pedro Acevedo from Keiser, 6-3, but fell to Pato Zarazua and Thomas Salmon from PBA, 6-3.
- In the semifinals, Montrieul and Gomez beat Vicente Lagos and Romai Ugarte of Keiser, 6-3, to qualify for the finals of Draw A.
- The Duo of Montrieul and Gomez rolled over Zarazua and Salmon from PBA, 6-2, to win Draw A.
Draw B
- Tous and Matteoli fell to Nicolas Guerschanik and Andrew Connolly from Keiser, 6-2, and were moved to the consolation bracket.
- Ravier and  Guttierez were defeated by PBA's Philipp Hoffmann and Carlos Niemeyer, 6-2, and were moved to the consolation bracket.
- Tous and Matteoli defeated Ravier and Guttierez, 6-3, in the finals of the consolation bracket of Draw B.
ON THE HORIZON:
The Bucs have concluded their fall season, and start back up after the new year.
