SUMMARY:

  • The Bucs led by as many as 15, but Eckerd held Barry for over five minutes without a field goal in the second half to send it to overtime. Drushaun McLaurn scored with 1:13 to go in the first overtime to put the Tritons up by one. But Arie Williams hit a 3-pointer after missing one seconds earlier. Mortensen tipped out the offensive board, and Williams' triple put the Bucs ahead by two. McLaurn later scored to send it to a second overtime.
  • Williams hit a 3, and Mortensen sank two free throws to start the second overtime. Eckerd tied the game for a fourth time with 1:31 remaining before Williams scored with 44 seconds to go. Trevon Young answered 20 seconds later to tie it again, 95-95, before Fridriksson's follow-up heroics won it.
  • The Buccaneers opened the game with six triples to take an 18-4 lead.

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Arie Williams moved into sole possession of third place on the school's all-time three-point field goals list. He has 191 in his four-year Bucs career.
  • Daniel Mortensen buried a career-high seven triples in scoring a season-high 23 points. He also had two blocks on one possession, and came up with the key rebound in the game on the tip-out to Williams, whose three essentially sent the game to double overtime.
  • Sawyer Glick had two offensive rebounds on the Bucs' final possession in which Barry had four cracks at the basket before Fridriksson cashed in.
  • Fridriksson had his team-leading fourth double-double of the season.
  • The Buccaneers dished out at least 20 assists for the ninth time this season.

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING:

"Sawyer Glick didn't score much today, but he came up with two huge offensive rebounds that allowed Elvar to follow up. That was so important, and I can't stress that enough."
