MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The tests just keep on coming for the Barry University women's basketball team as they travel this weekend to face the Sunshine State Conference-leading Eckerd Tritons in the McArthur Center on Saturday, Jan. 7 at 2:00 pm.

The Buccaneers (4-9, 2-4 SSC), who spent the end of last semester dealing with a host of injuries, will look to snap a four-game losing streak when they visit the Tritons (11-2, 5-0 SSC).

Getting leading scorer Lauren Seyranian (So., F) back on track would be a good step in the right direction. Seyranian, who leads the team at 11.6 points per game, has been held under double figures in the last three games. She has hit just 2-of-17 from three-point range over the last three games, after shooting 39.2 percent in the first eight games.

Elin Ekdahl (Jr., G) has been a bright spot, scoring in double figures in six of the last seven games, after topping 10 points just twice in the first six. She leads the conference at 51.0 percent from three-point range, and is averaging 2.4 made treys per game in the last seven games. For the season, she averages 10.2 points and 3.3 rebounds.

The Tritons are off to the best start in school history, earning a #15 national ranking from the D2SIDA Media Poll for the first time in program history.

The balanced Tritons are led by the backcourt duo of Kacie Juday (Jr., G) and Victoria Vine (Sr., G). Juday is third in the conference at 15.0 points per game, while Vine is sixth at 14.0.

Eckerd leads the league in scoring at 74.8 and is second in defense at 55.2 for a league-best 19.6 scoring margin.

The game will be carried on Triton View as a pay-per-view option. The Buccaneer Broadcast Network also provide a free radio broadcast. Live stats are available on the Tritons website, eckerdtritons.com.
