Basketball Hosts Panthers and Miami-Dade First Responders On Wednesday

All first responders receive free admission with ID

MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers host the Florida Tech Panthers on Wednesday, Jan. 25 in Sunshine State Conference basketball action. The women's game tips at 5:30 pm, with the men following at approximately 7:30 pm.

The Bucs will be hosting Miami-Dade First Responders. All first responders with valid ID will receive free admission and a chance to take part in the game day contest.

The Buccaneer women are led by junior center Kiara Palmer at 12.8 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. Lauren Seyranian chips in 9.9 points, while Elin Ekdahl and Julia Paulin each average 8.4.

The Panther women look to guards Shequanna Harris and Delise Williams. Harris leads the team at 12.9 points per game, while Willins chips in 10.2.

Barry's men, who come into the game ranked 7th in the NABC National Poll and 6th in the D2SIDA Media rankings, have five players in double figures, led by senior forward Adrian Gonzalez at a conference-best 22.1 points per game. Junior point guard Elvar Fridriksson adds 14.8 points per game and a league-best 7.9 assists per game. Shooters Arie Williams and Sawyer Glick are among the best in the conference from long range, averaging 12.4 and 11.8 points per game respectively and ranking fourth and seventh in the SSC in made three-point field goals. Daniel Mortensen chips in 10.1 points and is a three-time SSC Defensive Player of the Week.

The Panthers rely on the one-two punch of forward Sam Daniel and guard Jordan Majors. Daniels is second in the SSC at 21.5 points per game, while Majors is third at 21.1. Guard Patrick Anderson adds 14.1 points per game.
