MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Barry University men's basketball team needed a boost to get by Embry-Riddle Saturday in the Health & Sports Center. Credit Elvar Fridriksson, Arie Williams and Kenan Guzonjic for the lift.
Oh yeah, and Adrian Gonzalez came up with a big three-point play late to push the fifth-ranked Buccaneers past the Eagles to close out the week with a pair of victories over the Sunshine State Conference provisional members. Now Barry will take its act on the road for a key test at Tampa Wednesday.

SUMMARY:
- Barry took a 24-23 lead on a tip-in by Adrian Gonzalez with 6:33 to go in the first half.
- The Eagles regained the lead on a layup by Luka Majstorovic before Kenan Guzonjic tied it with a 3 at the 5:14 mark. But Barry went on a 9-2 run to take a 7-point lead on Sawyer Glick's triple with 36 seconds remaining in the first half.
- Barry built a 9-point lead on Gonzalez's basket at the 16:28 mark of the second half. Embry-Riddle tied the game for the sixth and final time with 11:53 to go on a three by Hunter Cole. Guzonjic hit a jumper with 8:17 to play to put the Bucs ahead, 58-55.
- The Eagles whittled it down to one on five more occasions, including the last time on a three-point play by Dillon Graham with 1:47 on the clock. But the Bucs used a 6-0 run, highlighted by Gonazlez's three-point play with 50 seconds to go, to take a six-point lead to put it away.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Guzonjic had a double-double, his second of the season, and dished out five assists.
- Williams hit a season-high six 3-pointers to put him over 200 for his career. He has 202 in his four years with the Red and Black. Of Williams' 55 baskets, 47 of them have been beyond the arc. In his career, 202 of his 238 field goals have been of 3-ball nature. Needless to say, South Side, as he's affectionately known within the inner BarryU circles, lives behind the perimeter.
- Barry has been held under 50 percent from the floor its last three games.
- The Bucs were held to under 20 assists for the first time since its season-low of 12 on Nov. 30.
