MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- 
Jaeda Allen kept putting balls to the floor, and Barry University's volleyball team grinded out a 25-23, 25-14, 25-27, 25-18 win over Florida Tech Saturday.
Allen had 14 kills, and hit .276, and 
Eva Raat pounded 11 kills and hit .346 as the Buccaneers improved to 8-3 overall, 2-1 in the Sunshine State Conference.
Barry hit .333 in the second set, putting away 14 kills in 33 attempts to take a 2-0 lead in the match. 
Allen's kill gave the Bucs a 10-4 lead in the second set. 
Kishara Gordon put away a ball to push the Bucs up 15-6. Raat sent a ball to the floor for a 20-11 lead. 
Kristina Filimonova's kill extended it to 22-13, and 
Kaitlin Drake sealed the set with a kill on a set from 
Kat Espinosa.
The Panthers (2-9, 0-3) hit .024 in the second set.
But the Panthers exploited the Bucs in the third set down the stretch, overcoming an 18-13 lead after Raat's kill. Olivia Hersey's kill pulled the Panthers within 21-19. She added another kill four points later to tie it at 22-22. Kelly Germain and Jenna Schaffer had back-to-back kills to give FIT a 24-22 lead before two Panthers errors tied it up at 24-24. A Bucs service error and attack error handed the set to the Panthers.
Florida Tech hit .256 in the third set. Barry had a .143 attack percentage.  
Barry overcame a slow start in the fourth set to bounce back. Espinosa's ace and a kill by Filimonova highlighted a 5-0 Bucs run. Espinosa ripped off two more aces to put the Buccaneers on top 15-11. Filimonova and Raat had a combination block to pad the Bucs lead to 18-13. Drake's kill made it 21-15. Drake and 
Genesis Castillo had a kill apiece to run the Bucs lead to 24-16, and Castillo tapped over the final point to terminate the match.
Drake had seven kills, and Castillo five. Gordon had six kills. Espinosa had 15 digs and three aces. 
Juliana Tirabassi had 23 assists and 11 digs. 
Jenny Trinidad had 19 assists. 
The Bucs will play at No. 21 Florida Southern Friday.
