Volleyball Hosts No. 17 PBA Friday, NSU Saturday

Buccaneers open conference play against Sharks

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University volleyball will host No. 17 Palm Beach Atlantic 7 p.m. Friday and Nova Southeastern 4 p.m. Saturday. Saturday's match with the Sharks marks the start of Sunshine State Conference play.

The Buccaneers (6-1) have won their last five. PBA (4-3) has won four in a row. NSU (5-3) has lost three of its past four. Both matches will be carried on the Buccaneers Broadcast Network.

Barry is hitting .171 as a team. Opponents are hitting .100 against the Bucs, which is the lowest in the league. PBA is hitting .198. Nova is hitting .201. The matchup against the Sharks features the top two blocking teams in the SSC. Barry is averaging 2.48 blocks per set. Nova Southeastern is averaging 2.41.

PBA's Ally Rohn is hitting .220 with 3.4 kills per set. Sarah Ragland is hitting .302, and coming up with 1.48 blocks per set. Nova's Denvyr Tyler-Palmer has 109 kills entering the weekend. Maddie Uilk leads the SSC in blocks with 37. 

Nova Southeastern will play at Lynn Friday night before visiting the Health & Sports Center.
