Box Score SAINT LEO, Fla. -- Barry University's seventh-ranked men's tennis team dropped a 5-4 match to fifth-ranked Lander Saturday after the Buccaneers were forced to give up one point due to retirement.
The Bucs (11-5) stormed back from a 3-0 deficit after doubles, claiming three of their four singles points in straight sets, but it wasn't enough as the Bearcats (16-2) picked up a win at No. 5 singles to hold on after all the momentum tilted Barry's way.

Ahmed Triki coasted to a 6-2, 6-1 win over 14th-ranked Marc Hofer at No. 1 singles. It was Triki's fifth win over a ranked opponent this season, and second this weekend. Barry's
Nico Dreer, the 17th-ranked player in the South Region, rolled to a 6-2, 6-2 victory over ninth-ranked Chris Devoize at the No. 2 position.
Victor Ravier had his way with Paul Arslanian, winning 6-2, 6-1, at No. 6 singles for the Bucs' third straight sets singles win.
Renato Lombardi, who owns the No. 18 ranking in the South Region, split the first two sets before putting away Alex Springer, 6-1, 2-6, 6-1, at the No. 4 position to give the Buccaneers their fourth singles point.Â
Barry's No. 33-ranked Fabian Pronnet was forced to retire after the first set, yielding his singles match to No. 35 Loic Minery at the No. 3 position. The Bucs pushed the Bearcats in two of the three pairs matches before dropping close calls at the No. 1 position, 8-6, and at the No. 3 position, 9-7.
Barry will play at Eckerd in St. Petersburg, Florida, 10 a.m. Sunday to complete the three-match weekend trip.
