WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Barry baseball got back to winning ways as it swept Palm Beach Atlantic 13-8, 5-4 on Friday.

In the first game, the Buccaneerss overwhelmed PBA, scoring nine runs in the first five innings and then adding four more in the 7
th.

The scoring spree included RBI from
Ramon Valdez (3),
Frank Gonzalez (4),
Ryan Baldwin (2),
Mike Diaz and
Alexander DeGoti (3).
Â
Bucs starter
Alex Lavandero improved to 4-1 in an 8.0 IP, 11 strikeout performance. PBA starter Casey Kopec went to 1-1 in a 2.0 IP, two strikeout outing.

The second game was a much closer affair, as the Bucs would need 11 innings to take down the Sailfish and win the series.

The Bucs scored first in the 3
rd on a DeGoti RBI double down the left field line that brought in Diaz. The Sailfish would score two in the bottom of the inning to go up 2-1.

In the 4
th, Barry tied it up again thanks to an
Alffredi Ramos RBI single to right field that brought
Jonathan Quintana home.

In the bottom of the inning however, PBA would take the lead again, going up 4-2.

The Bucs would wait till the 9
th to tie it up, thanks to RBI singles by
Khalil Denson and Valdez.

The Bucs win it in the 11
th with a DeGoti RBI single to right field that brought in Denson and a shutdown performance from closer
Nate Greve, who earned the win with a 2.0 IP, one strikeout effort that won the game for the Bucs.

Greve improves to 2-0, while PBA reliever Dominic Monda goes to 5-1 on the year after a 4.1 IP, six strikeout performance.

The Bucs improve to 18-12 on the year while PBA stands at 17-14.

Up next for Barry is trip up to Port Saint Lucie to take on a minor league affiliate of the New York Mets on Sunday at 1 PM.
