Box Score MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry women's basketball celebrated Homecoming Week in style as it entertained the returning alumni and current students with a 67-57 win over Sunshine State Conference foe, Palm Beach Atlantic.
The Bucs started the game on the back foot, going into the 2
nd period down 16-13 with
Amra Elezovic leading the team with 8 points including two 3-pointers.
In the 2
nd period, Barry would step it up, ending the half with the score at 34-25 with
Jackie Perez shooting a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to put the exclamation on a 21-9 run.
After the half, the Sailfish fought back, outscoring the Bucs 17-16 but the Bucs would hold on to the lead.
In the 4
th period, the Bucs would put the game away, earning their fourth win in-a-row.
Elezovic led the Bucs with 16 points on the day while
Jackie Perez had a team-high four 3-pointers.
Ines Kerin had a team-high three steals while
Irene Sanchez had a game-high two blocks. Â
The win puts the Bucs at 15-6 on the year and 8-4 in the SSC. PBA now stands at 9-12 for the season.
Up next for Barry is a visit from SSC opponent Florida Tech on Wednesday, February 10 with tip-off slated for 5:30 PM.Â
