Box Score ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- Barry University men's tennis team beat Flagler, 7-2, Sunday to cap a three-match weekend. The No. 1 Buccaneers went 2-1 on the weekend.
Barry (5-1) took a 2-1 lead into singles, while using different combinations for the third time on the road trip.
Ahmed Triki and
Nico Dreer beat Kevin Gonzalez and Luka Storck, 8-6, at No. 1 doubles.
Fabian Pronnet and
Daniel Ventura defeated Hermann Gertmann and Willy Hasselberg, 8-2, at No. 2.
Triki was a 6-3, 6-3 winner over Gonzalez at No. 1 singles. Dreer beat Gertmann, 6-4, 6-3, at No. 2. Ventura beat Lennart Luneborg, 6-0, 6-3, at No. 4.
Franco Echenique beat Hasselberg, 7-6 (7-5), 7-5, at No. 5.
Flavio Matteoli beat Konstantin Dustmann, 6-3, 6-0, at No. 6 for Barry's remaining singles victory at the No. 6 position. It was Matteoli's first victory for the Buccaneers.
Barry will play No. 2 Hawaii Pacific in LaJolla, Calif., 3 p.m. Friday to begin a four-match road trip to Southern California. The Bucs return home Sunday, March 13 against Auburn-Montgomery.
