Women's Basketball Hosts Sharks

MIAMI SHORES, Fla.--The Barry University women's basketball team host the Nova Southeastern Sharks on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 5:30 pm in the Health & Sports Center.

The Buccaneers are 2-3 overall and 1-1 in the Sunshine State Conference. They are coming off a pair of losses, 68-60 to Florida Tech and 67-53 to Central Missouri, after having beaten Delta State (52-47) and Lynn (51-47).

The Sharks (5-1, 2-0 SSC), ranked 21st in the WBCA national poll, are riding a four-game winning streak, having defeated Palm Beach Atlantic (94-56), Tampa (58-52), Valdosta State (85-79) and Armstrong State (77-67).

The Bucs are led by sophomore transfer Lauern Seyranian at 13.8 points per game. She shoots 43.5 percent from three-point range, good for fifth in the conference. Barbara Cousiño chips in 7.4 points, 5.8 rebounds and a team-leading 2.8 assists per game.

The Sharks are paced by junior guard Christen Prasse's 14.8 points per game. Backcourt mate Taylor Buie and forward Samantha Logan add 11.3 and 10.2 points per game. Logan tops the SSC with 10.3 rebounds, while Prasse leads the league with 6.3 assists per game.
