GAME NOTES
MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University's volleyball team will play at Embry-Riddle 7 p.m. Friday and at Rollins 4 p.m. Saturday.
The Buccaneers (15-13, 7-8 Sunshine State Conference) are attempting to match the most wins in a season since coach
Steve Hendricks took over. His 2014 and 2012 teams both finished with 17 wins. In both of those years, Barry was ranked 10th in the NCAA South Region poll. That is where the Bucs stand now.
Barry swept both opponents earlier in the season at home. But the Eagles (14-14) beat Florida Southern in five sets and are playing better volleyball. Rollins (11-18, 3-11) has dropped its past four, but have two hitters with over 400 kills this season.
Barry's
Jaeda Allen is 25 kills shy of 400 this year.
Kaitlin Drake is 37 kills shy of 500 in her Bucs career.
Kat Espinosa is 61 digs away from 500 this season.
Kristina Filimonova and
Ivana Didanovic have a chance to lead the SSC in blocks this year. Filimonova leads the league in attack percentage.
It will be the final matches for Didanovic, Drake,
Jenny Trinidad,
Ariel Mangum,
Amanda Brill and
Eva Raat.
