MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Barry women's basketball will play its first true road game of the season Saturday night at Florida Tech. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in the Clemente Center.
The Buccaneers (2-1, 1-0 Sunshine State Conference) rebounded from a poor opening game to hold their next two opponents under 50 points. The Bucs defeated Lynn 51-47 in their conference debut.The Panthers (2-1, 0-1 SSC) dropped their conference opener 65-53 to Eckerd on Wednesday.
The Bucs have two of the top four scorers in the SSC in junior
Kiara Palmer and sophomore
Lauren Seyranian. They both average 16.0 points per game, while Palmer chips in 8.7 rebounds and Seyranian is shooting 60.0 percent from three-point range.
Senior guard Shequana Harris and junior forward Tanease Richardson lead the Panthers. Harris is scoring 13.0 points per game, while Richardson adds 11.0.
CESAR ODIO THANKSGIVING CLASSIC: Barry will host the Cesar Odio Thanksgiving Classic next Friday and Saturday in the Health & Sports Center. Barry, Central Missouri and Johnson & Wales are in the field. Games are set for 2:00 pm each day.
