MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry's volleyball team has been on a longevity kick these days.
The Buccaneers played a school record fourth straight five-set match Saturday in their 3-2 win over Saint Leo. Barry has been involved in seven five-setters this season. The school record for most in a season is 11 in 2008. But never have the Bucs been working overtime as much as they have the past two weeks. The last four matches have all been over two hours and 15 minutes, including a pair of two-and-a-half-hour matches last weekend.
In 2010 and 2000, the Bucs played three straight five-set matches.
Barry (15-12, 7-7 Sunshine State Conference) will see Saint Leo (18-10, 10-4) again 7 p.m. Wednesday on the road. It is the first of three road matches this week to complete the regular season. The Bucs finish the season at Embry-Riddle and Rollins Friday and Saturday.
Wednesday's match is a makeup from hurricane earlier this season.
Barry's
Jenny Trinidad needs one ace to move into a tie for ninth place all-time.
Kaitlin Drake is 44 kills shy of 500 in her Bucs career.
