Women's Soccer Draws 0-0 With 14th-Ranked Sharks

Forero had a season-high seven saves

DAVIE, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers earned a scoreless draw at 14th-ranked Nova Southeastern on Wednesday night at the NSU Soccer Complex in Sunshine State Conference women's soccer action.

The Bucs (6-2-2, 3-2-1 SSC) worked their second scoreless draw of the season, having tied Flagler 0-0 on Sept. 9. It was the second scoreless draw for the Sharks (9-1-3, 4-0-2 SSC) as well. They drew 0-0 with Embry-Riddle on Sept. 21.

For the Bucs, it was a victory of sorts, as they held one of the top offensive sides in the conference off the board. The Sharks came into the match averaging 2.25 goals per game, ranked second in the league behind Saint Leo. NSU was also the top defensive unit in the conference, surrendering just eight goals in 12 games.

Paula Forero kept the Bucs in the game with a season-high seven saves to notch her fourth shutout of the season. Ida Norstrom had three saves for the Sharks.

NSU had 22 shots, while the Bucs had 14.

Barry travels to Palm Beach Atlantic on Saturday to face the Sailfish at the Rinker Athletic Campus.
